NaNoWriMo anyone?

Anyone participating this year? I wanted to, but I'm trying to slow down with my writing. I can get out a novel within a month anyway, which tends to mean that I rush through it all and have loads of things I need to add, edit, change during revisions.

But that doesn't mean that's everyone's problem! So, are you participating and what's your username? Put them in the comments and add each other so we can all support and rally and cheer!

A quick reminder, though...

Agents have been tweeting, blogging and discussing about their influx of submissions come January. If you're writing a novel in a month, you're going to need more than December to edit, so take your time and really make sure your story is the best it can be before querying. That means no January queries unless it is perfeeeeect.

I wish you all luck and I hope you're all winners :)

  3. I don't really believe in NaNo, but I do happen to be writing a novel this month. I started a while ago and hit 16k words today. Another 64k to go, but like you I won't rush it. If things go well the first draft will be done this year. I'm trying for my usual 2k per day, but this novel has been harder to make that quota on, at 1,955 words, today goes down as my best so far.

  5. I'm not doing it this year since I'm buried in revisions for the book I just finished. But I have done it in the past and think it's a fantastic way to churn out a first draft. Nothing like a deadline to kick you in the pants!

  6. I'm nano-ing for the first time under ShielaWrites. And I'm jealous of all you who can already write a book in a month :) My last book took me three years to write, and I still have tons of revisions, edits, etc. All those words I shed blood, sweat or tears over - most were changed. Or gone. I figure I have to edit no matter what so might as well go for quantity over quality this time as see how that goes. Enjoying the freedom :) Good luck to everyone!

  7. This is my second year NaNoing - it's go well so far, but then again, it just started. Hopefully, I can keep it up. Thanksgiving will be a hiccup, though. Good luck to everyone! <3

  9. I'd love to participate in NaNo, but with school and all, it doesn't look like a possibility :(
